SNOWBIRDS RETURN TO EDMONTON FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 15 YEARS
EDMONTON, AB - December 6, 2016 – The Snowbirds are coming to Edmonton! To celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday in 2017, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds have announced they will be roaring into the Edmonton Airshow on August 19th and 20th.
Flying at speeds of 600 km/hr, with only about 1.2 metres (4 feet) between aircraft, the demonstration team is guaranteed to set hearts racing.
The Snowbirds flew their 1000th show at CFB Edmonton in 1990. The 2017 Edmonton Airshow will mark the first time the Snowbirds have flown a full formation in Edmonton in 15 years.
“With more than 300 requests for their time it is an honour and a pleasure to have them return to Edmonton, especially on Canada’s 150th birthday,” says the Edmonton Airshow’s Executive Producer, Dean Heuman of RWE Events. “This is something we have been working toward since our first event in 2015 and we could not be more excited to have them for our show.”
We are looking forward to many other exciting performers and planes for this very special celebration.
Tickets will be available in the spring in limited numbers.
